We have two new applications on the site.
Firstly the new toolbar, this has been designed with bowlers
in mind and will give access to a number of applications from the top of your browser window, I will be updating this from
time to time, all updates once you have the toolbar will happen for you automatically with no need to reload. I am open
to suggestions as to what you would like to have available, also anything you feel is not needed, if at any time you feel
you wish to uninstall the toolbar it is as easy to uninstall as it is to install. So why not give it a try.
Secondly, on
Wednesday 4th. August I created a facebook account for the
County.
This is an opportunity that
I should have thought of before, but better late than never. This is probably the largest social networking site in use today,
with literally millions of users throughout the world.
The benefits to us are tremendous
with a wide young and not so young audience for our pages.
The first use we can make of this
will occur this coming Saturday, we will be able to post our results almost as soon as they happen, this will be the chance
for us to see the benefits, and of course any pitfalls. Many people have mobile phones that can make use of the facebook application,
hopefully, I can get these users to post results, I am sure there will be many around on the day. The results once posted
will be available to be viewed via the mobile phone application, as well as on computer via the internet. All being well this
result service will work and will give us the opportunity to post instant results for the England National Championships at
Worthing.
Another use is the instant
updating of important information regarding the County, this morning I received the change of venue for Bert
Cox (Gill Cup) Memorial Trophy final from Brian Wigmore, this I have posted on facebook, but it
could have been posted directly by him, then I could have posted it on the web site.
I have placed a link to facebook
on the home page and the County news page of the web site, from this link people can view the page and if they are signed
up for facebook also interact directly with the facebook page. I as administrator have the ability to delete any unwanted
posts and pictures, I can also give administrative access to anyone I choose.
To have access to all the
information on the pages and to post any messages it is important to open a facebook account, please bear in mind that you
can cancel any accounts that you set up if you so wish at a later date. So with nothing to lose
and hopefully a valuable asset to gain, why not give it a try.
This will not replace the web site,
but will hopefully, run in harmony with it, giving us another useful tool for the promotion of our sport and the County.

Help Needed.
I would like to publish all the local League Tables on the Club News page, if you can contact
your League Secretaries and ask them to send them to me by email, it would be a great help.
Last year I published County Competition results as they were sent to me, this was well received
and I want to do the same again, so if you know results please send them to me, using the form on the Competition page.
I have created a sub web site for the up to date results, I don't want to complicate things,
as I have always tried to keep the site in an easy to navigate form, please take a look at the Competitions page, Division
Four. This is the format I have created for the results, I need to know if it is getting too complicated, as the tables and
results will be seperated. My thinking behind this is to keep the pages as tidy as possible, please send me your thoughts
and comments on this.
R.T.
Please download, print and post on your Club notice board.

I really would like to see this site develop and become your first stop, for
up to date news and events from around the County. The site is only as good as the content I put on it, what I put on
it, is only what I am sent. Therefore to bring the site alive I need input, any news, photos, bowls anecdotes or anything
you feel would be relevant to other bowlers in Kent, can be sent via the Contact Us page. I would rather have the same News and Results sent to me a hundred times rather than not
receive them at all. I look forward to your input. R.T.

I am sure many people will have taken Digital Cameras to County Games and events
throughout the year, I have placed a photo album on the site so send me the photos, you can send them electronically,
or send me the hard copies and I can scan them.
